This was the second version of the First National flag after Virginia, Arkansas, North Carolina and Tennessee had joined the Confederacy. It was eventually replaced because of the confusion caused by its similarity to the Stars and Stripes.July 2, 1861 – November 28, 1861.

Michael Turnage –
This 11 Star First National Flag reflects all of the Seceded States. It is said that more Confederates fought under this Flag in the ANV. My grandfather’s grandfather did; he fought at Morris Island in 1863 and during Yankee Grant’s Overland Campaign in 1864. Vicious fighting ensued throughout Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia against the invading Yankee, soldier of Mr Lincoln himself.

Correction: The writer needs to clarify one sentence concerning the number of Confederates that marched under the First National:
It is said that in Lee’s ANV, more Confederates marched, fought and died under the 7 Star and 11 Star First National Flag than any other Confederate National Flag. Our Ancestors fought viciously against Mister Lincoln’s Yankee soldiers. All of you with Confederate Ancestors have so much to be proud of; NEVER let some Yankee or liberal try to discredit our Ancestors; set ‘em straight and let them go back up North.
